Lyons Township Republican Committeeman
Terrance “Terry” Carr was elected Cook County Republican Party Chairman by his fellow Committeemen at the County Convention held on April 15, 2026. Terry was elected Lyons Township Republican Committeeman in 2022 and re-elected in March 2026.
He also serves as the Lyons Township Highway Commissioner (elected in 2025) where his duties include ensuring that the township roads, bridges, and public infrastructure are safe, reliable, and well-maintained year-round. Chairman Carr is a small business owner who resides in the village of McCook where he has served as its mayor since 2020.

The Party is governed by its Committeepersons — one elected in each of the 30 suburban townships and each of Chicago's 50 wards. They elect the County Chairman, slate candidates, and organize Republicans precinct by precinct.
